Our Board Members
Mr Patrick Lim holds a Chemical Engineering Degree from the National University of Singapore and an MBA from Imperial College, United Kingdom. He works in an American MNC as Director in charge of their global polymers business. He has served as a lay leader in various sub-committees in Covenant Evangelical Free Church and is currently a deacon on the church board. Within New Life Community Services, he has served as Vice Chairman, Assistant Treasurer, Honorary Secretary and Chairpersons of several committees, including Fund-raising, Project Love and Youth Strategy.
Elder Johnny Tan has retired from the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) in March 2015, after serving the nation 30 years. In the SAF, he has done project management, training development, as well as commanded battalions and training institutes. Elder Johnny stepped down as the Chairman of the Church Board of Covenant EFC in April 2015 and assumed the appointment of Mission Director in Covenant EFC. In Covenant EFC since 1989, he has served as an officer and captain of the Boys Brigade ministry as well as a worship leader, Covenant Group Leader, Area Overseer and marriage mentor. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Western Australia. He is married to Clara and they have three children.
Mr Jeremiah Lo has served in the Ministry of Defence since 1998, and held management positions since 2002. He holds a Master's Degree in International Public Policy from the School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor's Degree in Social Science from the National University of Singapore. A former Fullbright Scholar, Jeremiah got interested in philanthropic service after helping the homeless in Washington DC. He also serves in Covenant EFC's Community Blessing Homework Corner initiative in Bukit Panjang and is an assistant cell group leader. At his previous church, Jeremiah was a coordinator for the music ministry and for volunteers at a nursing home.
Mr Cheah Sin Hean has 40 years of experience in the building industry: three years as a quantity surveyor in the former Public Works Department, nine years as a project manager with property developers and 28 years as a director in Goodrich Global Pte Ltd, a company that supplies interior furnishings. He graduated with a B. Sc. (Building) (Honours) from the National University of Singapore in 1978.
Mr Eddie Tan is currently the Citigroup Asia Pacific Regional Corporate Treasurer overseeing the Balance Sheet, Funding, Hedging and Capital Management of the group. He is also the Regional President of Association Cambiste Internationale Asia (a professional trade association) and Chair of the Disciplinary Committee for Singapore Exchange. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the National University of Singapore.
For the past 16 years and until recently, Adelyn Teo took on various roles as Regional CFO, controller and internal auditor of a number of multinational US and European companies, responsible for finance leadership, business and operational control and driving business growth and profitability. Prior to that, she worked in the public accounting practice as an auditor. Adelyn is currently pursuing her post-graduate studies in Counselling at Singapore Bible Colllege and works part-time as a consultant for a public accounting firm. Adelyn holds a Bachelor's degree in Accountancy (Honours) from Nanyang Technological University.
Mr Sim Teow Hong used to work as an auditor in an international public accounting firm before joining a US bank for 18 years wherein he started as a regional auditor covering Asia Pacific region and last served as Chief Financial Officer. He then joined a local property development company with portfolios including hotels, office buildings, residential developments and a retail mall. Mr Sim was also involved in the startup of Singapore Management University in 1999. He was responsible for finance, investment, strategic planning, facilities management, campus development and leasing business. He retired after serving for 18 years in the university. Mr Sim holds a Bachelors of Accountancy from the former University of Singapore.
Adrienne Sng is a Clinical Psychologist by training and has more than 19 years of experience working with children, youth and their families through counselling and other therapeutic interventions. Presently she is the Director of Clinical Services in Boys’ Town overseeing Fostering, Family Re-unification, Counselling, Research, Clinical Social Work and Adventure Centre. She holds a Masters in Psychology (Clinical) by James Cook University, Singapore as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Marital and Family Therapy with Birbeck College (London).
Nicholas previously worked in town planning and then with the securities exchange before spending the last 14 years with Trybe building youths from all walks of life. Even though he holds a Masters in International Political Economy, he focuses on supporting youths through their adversities, helping them unleash their potential and walking alongside them in their victories. Known for his vibrant personality and unconventional leadership style, Nicholas believes in working collaboratively as a team and aspires to impact and bring positive change to youths he works with. He has no doubt that success is achieved only when these youths in turn inspire and support the people and communities around them in a positive and purposeful way.
Pamela has served in various positions in the civil service since 2005, and is currently a director in the National Climate Change Secretariat, Prime Minister’s Officer, Strategy Group. She holds a Degree in Economics from the University of Cambridge. She also serves in Covenant EFC as an assistant zone mentor.
Elder Lawrence Chua is a retired civil servant. A Founding Elder of Covenant Evangelical Free Church, his immense board experience spans more than three decades, serving in a voluntary capacity since 1978 in various roles of Secretary, Deacon, Elder, and Chairman. He was also the Founding President of New Life Community Services (NLCS). Currently, he is the trustee for a number of Church & NLCS properties.
