We provide tailored support for individuals and families facing difficult life circumstances. Through social work, counselling, and family engagement, we help clients work through their challenges, strengthen resilience, and move towards greater stability and well-being.

Our Approach
Behind every request for help is a story that’s more complex than it first appears.
Our caseworkers and counsellors begin by listening. Before any plan is made, they take time to understand each person’s circumstances, strengths and support network, so that the support we provide is shaped around the person, not the other way round.
Working closely with community partners, we provide tailored interventions for those facing financial hardship, family and relationship issues, emotional distress or major life transitions. Because every person’s circumstances are different, our support is too.
Our Casework & Counselling (CWC) team comprises qualified social workers and counsellors trained under programmes recognised by the Singapore Association of Social Workers (SASW) and the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC).

STABILITY & FOCUS
– Grace’s Story
During her junior college years, Grace balanced three part-time jobs while preparing for her ‘A’ Levels. Compounded by family hospitalisations and rising living costs, the immense financial and emotional strain threatened to derail her academic aspirations.
Referred to New Life by her school counsellor, Grace received targeted financial assistance during this critical period. Our support provided much-needed stability, easing her burdens so she could remain entirely focused on her university studies.
Last year, Grace proudly graduated from Nanyang Technological University with strong academic results. Empowered by the support she received, she now carries a deep desire to pay it forward, believing that small acts of kindness can completely change a person’s path.

01. Counselling
Children and youths can develop negative mindsets and patterns of behaviour due to life circumstances, which may result in anti-social tendencies later in life. To deal with these issues before they become ingrained, we provide counselling and behavioural management services for children (aged 10 years old and below), preteens and youths (aged 11 to 21 years old) and their families.
We provide a safe environment where they can share openly without the fear of being judged. We walk them in building their resilience and coping, to be able to be above one’s challenges.

02. Groupwork
We believe that for the next generation, early intervention prevents the development of harmful behaviour, habits and mindsets as they become adults, freeing them to flourish and positively contribute to society. In line with this preventive approach, CWC conducts groupwork with primary and secondary school-aged pre-teens and youths.
The following are examples of session topics covered during groupwork:

03. Casework
Our Casework Services support individuals and families in navigating life’s challenges by providing personalised assessment, practical assistance, and ongoing guidance. We work collaboratively with clients to understand their needs, identify strengths, and develop plans that promote positive and sustainable outcomes.
Through casework, we uphold the well-being of the family, we connect them with community resources, provide psychoeducation to enhance understanding and coping and to improve their well-being.
