For years, life was a struggle for Hanna. After an early pregnancy, she was left raising two young children on her own and fell into deep depression, resulting in her children being placed in foster care while she stayed in a shelter. In 2024, she moved into a rental flat and her children were eventually returned to her care. She brought her daughter, Aleesa, to Steady Readers because she struggled with writing, and Aleesa has been thriving in the programme, showing enthusiasm, good behaviour, and a love for learning.
Today, Hanna is working hard to rebuild her life and become a confident, stable parent. She recently found employment as a bus conductor with MINDS and is grateful that New Life never gave up on her family. With their support, she is hopeful for a brighter future for herself and her children.
